After interrogating the staff at local Tires Are Us (or something) I have them ordering new rear rotors, calipers, pads, sensors. I am confident they have the skills to do this for me. But anything I should tell them before they start? Doesn't hurt to check in here to gather some nuts.......of wisdom? Ha Ha Ha:grin
1-1.5 bar Pressure bleed is the correct prcess with ABS brakes or with old mastercylinder.
Manually pumping pedal causes seal scuffing and subsequent mc failure.
FWIW I used the below unit on my cars....used MB fluid and pressurized at 1.2 Bar....Bled out all four calipers quite a bit to ensure all of the old fluid was flushed. Emptied and filled the fluid from the reservoir first step to avoid pumping that old stuff all the way out the caliper.
The rear brakes have NO sensors, only fronts. Hardest part is getting the caliper mounting bolts loose and off. They're secured with LOCKTITE. I used an 18 inch breaker bar to loosen mine last week. Do the two rear hoses to the calipers as well. The hoses tend to plug up from age before the calipers fail.
I also use the Power Motive unit and yes, the caliper bolts have locktite on 'em, be sure to clean the old bolts and use new loctite.
