82 500 SEC Euro bought in germany and federalized. 36,000 miles one owner. Waiting for it to be delivered. I would like to lower it and put on some monoblocs , but am i am open to leaving it alone.
I got the car and drove it home on the highway for about 2 hours .. It drives pretty well. Nice and smooth on the highway feels rock solid. I do like the seats in the 126. There are some small issues I have discovered which I will want to address, all beyond my skill level. The black background in the instrument cluster seems to be flaking . i don't know if it gets painted or I buy one from ebay? The gauge needles should be repainted as well. They are threads on this but i will ruin things if i try. Interior is good not mint . I plan to throw it on a hoist this weekend and go over it and see what else i find.
Refurbishing the cluster is not difficult, including painting the needles. Mapearso has some brand new speedometer faces for sale that make a world of difference.
This flaking... could you take a pic of it?.... along with the rest of the pics of the car we've all been waiting for? :grin
Is it mould? Seems to be a thing people get in some climates.
You have the 80mph speedo. Bit annoying since to change it would throw that low mileage into doubt for a future owner.
You could always get one and set the mileage to the same as the current one.
My Rose has Salt crystals in the Cluster from sitting beside the Pacific Ocean abandoned or so it appeared for 6 years. I have not taken the cluster apart to replace anything yet, but will tackle the salt, (looks sparkly in the right light.) when I repair the odometer gears.
