I've decided, since I have received a few PM's about my car, to start a thread with pics of my swap. If anybody would like to see pics of how it fits or what was done in certain areas feel free to reply.

Beautiful car an nice swap. I plan to do the same in the Vintage forum as I have a w114 LS1 swap

and a question off subject is the interior trim Carbon Fiber or Carbon Fiber wrap?

Here is the steering system. I'm not thrilled about it and plan on addressing it soon. While there is a slight amount of bump steer that is really not my complaint. Turning radius sucks and the way they set it up requires 18" rims to clear the outer tie rod. I am also getting an intermittent shimmy in the front end around 40-50 mph. Seems to do it more when the car (tires) are cold.

Is it just me or does it look really tight fit at the bottom? Plenty of room at the top, though. Unlike in GM F-bodies. Busted a knuckle or two working on those things during the years...

yes the engine sits as low and set back as they could get it. I'm assuming 2 reasons. One is oil pan clearance, the second is they planned on installing a vortech supercharger. I would think raising the engine could have made the job easier. As for space up top, tons of real estate. Thinking about mounting a turbo in the front DS corner ;)

w208 Rack might work better.
Shimmy could be tires, Ive given up all together with the cheap Chinese tires, they all have issues, that I seem to spend forever looking for.
Try a different set of wheels and see if it goes away.

Not sure what part of Florida you are in but I have a few sets laying around.

a little update on the steering issue

First let me say that on the initial test drive the steering felt vague and had no feedback at all. It felt like the steering wheel wasn't connected to anything, very easy to turn. I knew I was going to have to address it and i'm sure most people would have been scared off by it. Well as I racked up the miles it developed this nasty shimmy around 40-50mph and progressively got worse. My Porsche mechanic (KMW Motorsports) took one look at it and said " that junk won't work. So they removed those "pitman arm" like pieces that were welded to the frame and modified the steering arm on the spindle a bit. I took it for a ride last night and it's like a new car. Very responsive to steering input and decent feedback. We still have to adjust the tie rods to prevent bump steer but I'm totally amazed at the difference. For the life of me I can not understand why the previous guys did what they did.

and just cause I never get tired of looking at this monster I'm posting a pic.
