"Almandine Red/Mushroom 560SEC" FS on SFBA Craigslist

Rare color combo....

Also the same color as the chadahar "Rose", and the cascade sought-after SEC color combo before he found the black 1991.

Nice price, needs a bit work, but worth it IMHO.

FS: 1989 mercedes 560 sec - low miles

For sale

1989 mercedes 560 sec. Garaged for about 15 years. Very low miles. About 70k. Everything original. Perfect car for the enthusiast. Small transmission fluid leak. Was told easy/cheap fix for buyer who knows how to fix. Ac does not work just shoots out warm air. Radio does no work but original radio is there. Very minor exterior flaws but of course due to age of car its expected. Feel free to come and check it out. Price negotiable.

This thing needs Euro headlights, some H&R springs, and body-coded staggered AMG 3pc's. Primo.

It's a lovely colour, seen a few on UK eBay recently and they've been very striking.
This red with black leather I also like a lot. But not so much with the grey leather and this exterior.

I think the parts that need replacing are easy to repair/replace as a DIY'er. For a 70k mile car, thats a good price if it checks out fine with a PPI.

"The Amaretta Rose, a 560 SEC rescue story" ....

Hey Bondavi, You are the one who started this, how about you telling the story from the beginning??
You and Cascade are the ones who made the rescue, how about Cascade adding his part, too? I'm sure he's reading this so I'm asking you, too, Jim, to tell as much as you like since you were so helpful and generous with your time and all.

When I get the car I'll chime in with what my plans are for her; then as work gets done I'll chronicle what is being done and how.

I like 'pure stock'. and I don't have that wheel fetish most members of this forum have, but I will seek advice along the way and everyone is free to give their opinion.

I have two 560 SELs now and wanted to make one AMG, the other Option 822. I have most parts for each conversion BUT, now I wonder if I ought to convert Amaretta Rose into one of them.

Thoughts???

(Bondavi/Cascade..... want to start a new thread on this?)

Cascade and I are stopped for dinner, en route back home after picking up the Amaretta Rose which was a favor to Nitro88 who is down in So CA.

In a nutshell, a 70k SEC is quite something else. The tightness of everything (no slop!) and certain parts being new with cosmoline still apparent.

More soon, stay tuned.

Congrats to the new owner.
The cluster markers should still look orange on a 15 yr garaged car, but it might just be a bad pic.
