Shifter Indicator Bezel?

Hi All, I'm new and trying to find my way around this forum. So far, nearly all of my questions have been answered. Whether because my searching skills are not there or my "key wording" is not correct, I am unable to find anything about the Bezel that fits down around the shift indicator panel on the center console. My Bezel is cracked and I would like to replace it, yet I'm unable to find a P/N and/or store that offers it. Can anyone steer me in the correct direction for locating the Shift indicator bezel for a 1991 560SEL? Much appreciated!

Can I ask for a little clarification? Are you referring to center console wood piece or the black plastic that is inset with the gear selection information?

Thanks for the response follio2, I am referring to / asking for the black plastic rectangular piece that is pressed into/around the shift indicator. My wood is fine, but that black bezel is broken and what I would like to replace. Thanks again.

On earlier cars is was rubber and stapled to wood. On your model it was a seperate piece that just press fit in.

thanks to EVERYONE !! Having the P/N, I had better luck finding an image and, yes, success!! I must ask, Kodiak, how on earth did you manage to locate the exact number? Also, now I'm curious if the P/N is stamped on the bottom of my bezel... You guys are awesome, thank you!

I looked the part up on the Electronics Parts Catalog (epc) that Mercedes Benz maintains for folks to look up part numbers and schematics of parts groups:

EPC-net Online

After I looked up the part number, I just plugged it into one of the many online Mercedes Benz dealer parts websites:

1984 MERCEDES-BENZ 500SEC Parts - MBZ Wholesales Parts

Takes 2 or 3 minutes finding a part from the epc, then seconds to plug the part number into a Mercedes dealer vendor site to get a rough price on the part.

Thank you Kodiak, as my luck would have it, I am unable to subscribe to EPC as I run a Mac computer, bummer. I am curious though, what do they mean by "NA Passenger Car"? Both links you gave me are great resources, thank you. I will definitely continue to check back on the EPC with hopes they will support a Mac operating system at some point. Thanks again for everything.

Kodiak, May I ask for your continued help on this general subject? I have people telling me different things about lighting the shift indicator. I was thinking that I needed to replace the bulb at the far end of the fiber optic line (that feeds to the shift indicator). Some say there is no bulb and that I need to replace the optic line. Some say there is a bulb. The only P/N I found for the bulb is 072601012230 which does not appear to be Mercedes. AutohausAZ carries this item, but could I ask you to verify whether or not there is a bulb. Either way, can you tell me the the P/N for the Fiber Optic Line as well as a the bulb if it exists. I have not torn my center console apart yet as I would like to get these parts before I do so. Thanks ever so much for your help. I'm already thinking of getting an inexpensive PC just so that I can access EPC.

There is a fibre optic hub with a bulb in behind the radio area and a little above. Just one bulb in it.
But, if your car is a gen2 I would think yout shifter is illuminated by a single bulb which slots in near the top front edge of the shifter box assembly. Both my gen2's are like that anyway.
