Replaced pumps, filter and accumulator. Took a short gas shower as forgot to loosen gas cap before cracking lines. Gas is not a great cologne though it smells better than I do after working on the car. Hardest part was routing the lines/wiring so the shroud would fit back. No more gas dripping!
Removed, cleaned and oiled hood latch assemblies to solve a hard-to-close problem. Ended up putting spacers above striker bars so they would "reach" further into the latch mechanism. So much easier to close now. Forgot to mention my botch on this repair: dropped two of the striker bar bolts into the engine. Must have spent an hour searching for them with a light and my fingers probing around like some crazed proctologist. Jumped in the car, did some quick, jolting stops to make them fall out...nothing, never found 'em! Fortunately, Home Depot had the correct sizes, albeit with Phillips instead of hex heads. Never thought I'd buy parts for my car at a home improvement store!
Just driving around in the rain today...listening for the unusual in a remarkably good Diesel engine. Fuel gauge still quirky...have no idea how much fuel is in the tank after the return line popped off the injector last week and for all I know laid a Diesel trail all the way to Lake Forest Park...! Soon...very soon, must fix.
changed the transmission mount on my SD today. had a feeling it was causing the hot idle shakes (since it's not so pronounced in the winter time). sure enough it greatly decreased (almost totally removed) the shake (now i don't get embarrassed at a stop light ) . the old mount was very squishy and some of the rubber came off stretching like chewing gum
My service dog (GSD) was getting neurotic in the back seat...saved the day for both of us by 'discovering' pheromone spray...no harm to the SD and no more tense, neurotic, and agitated dog...amazing.
I think it is the small motor sounds that set her off...fans, etc., but I'm thinking that not having a hood pad over the motor may be a part of the problem...must get to putting in a new one but it's raining today...maybe tomorrow afternoon will work.

new brakes, pads and rotors
detailed the car, and decided to try to polish the air cleaner lid, went pretty well,
Mothers metal polish is quite good, used it on the 3 piece amgs
and got a dyno
186 hp to the wheels, coverts to around 230 crank
235lb/ft torque to the wheels around 290 crank

i think thats damn good for a 28 yr old car
Good day!
What engine configuration is yours?
Stock US 500? Tri-Ys?
Do you know which model dyno it was?
Dyno plot is handy with the AFR for reference also.

Fixed my failing fuel inlet line with Swagelok Stainless Tube connectors and stuff.
Then tackled my lack of footwell heat by inserting a bit of safety wire in the connection from the Vac pod to the actuator since the connection was just pulling apart..
Then stopped by Andy's shop and checked on his progress.
Crazy guy is putting (put) a 5Cyl turbodiesel into an SEC.

Mine doesn't look quite this bad, but it's getting there. Where'd you get the Swagelok stuff? Was the installation difficult? I'm assuming you unplugged the relay, ran the car dry, then clamped the main line.
