560sel rear shocks: need to switch "off" before lifting?

Newb question here.

I've heard the warnings about air shocks on domestic lincolns and cadillacs: put them up in the air, and, trying to compensate for the ride height, they suicide (I'm not clear on the mechanics, admittedly).

The leveling air-over-hydraulic suspension of a 1986 560sel: do I need to switch it off somehow and somewhere before I lift the car?
Couldn't find any suggestive switch in the trunk.

need to know!
thanks!

No need to do anything. Just put the car up and do whatever you need to underneath. You can even run the car with the rear wheels in the air.

The system is pretty simple, really, and I wouldn't worry about it. Just check for leaks around the accumulators and rams in the rear.
