I just bought a 1986 500 sec and I lost one of my rear brake caliper bleed screws while working on the brakes. I have looked for the part on multiple sites that specialize in european cars, but because the 86 is grey market i have not been able to find a new bleed screw for my car. Anyone know where i could find the part number for the bleed screw or a site that might have it?
thanks
take the remianing out and carry it to the local parts house. They should be able to match it up. If they dont have you may be able to talk them (cash) into removing one from a core......
Check your engine's serial number or car's VIN to determine if its not a Gen I car titled as a1986 or of its infact a 1986 Gen II car. If its a gen I car, then look up parts for a 1985 500SEC. If its a genuine Gen II 1986 500SEC, then look up parts for a 1986 560SEC.
I checked the vin and it is a genII that was made for the german market. were the 560s that were made for the u.s. market made with the same brakes as the 500s? because then i should be able to find the screw easily online.
