Throughout most of the day I removed some simple interior parts. Since the 91 560SEL donor car with the 040 Black interior has not made it here yet, I decided to just take my time with it. So far, the parts I have removed have been relatively easy for the most part. The front passenger seat, complete rear bench seat, center console, front carpets, lower dash trim and the passenger B pillar trim. I did my research in advance on how to remove certain parts and I was able to get everything removed without breaking any parts/trim. I will get back out there tomorrow after work and continue to remove parts. The dash assembly will be the very last part removed from the interior. My plan for tomorrow is to get the rear parcel shelf and side C pillar trim removed.

+1 on the maroon interior. IMHO it would look stunning with a 040 black exterior. Not the usual black, grey or beige interiors usually found. Good luck and keep us posted on the progress.
Looks like you've already upgraded your stereo but to any one else out there. When you pull your interior -that's the time to run any stereo upgrade wiring. I replaced my interior (went from alpaca gray to black) then 2 weeks later went to upgrade my stereo and realized that I would have to pull some of the interior again.

+1 on the steroe system upgrade while dash is out. Also it's the time to replace your vacuume pods while all is accessible. Everyone who's had this issue would wish they had the dash out for ease of getting to everything. While replacing the pods, replace the vac. line ends (fittings) as these can cause issues as well.
I kind of like the reddish int.... Beats my gray one by miles I think.
If you want, I can crate everything up real nice and send it to you.

Regards,
Exactly, and Maroon/Burgandy is a very hard color to find replacement parts for around here. Black/Grey not so hard.

Yep, new headunit put in couple years ago. I do have plans for a system while the interior is out.

Regards,
I have plans to replace all 6 vac pods. I also plan to replace the leaking expansion valve and O-rings so I can have A/C and a few other things will be addressed along the way. one of those being an extra power source or two. I snagged 8 power sockets from a few newer ford explorers while I was at the JY.
Had a chance to remove more trim this afternoon, The rear C pillars, rear parcel shelf and the rear header panel have been removed. I found only one clip that had been broken on the header panel but maybe it can be glued back on. Tomorrow I am going to remove the rear door panels and sill trim. Though it might rain here during the afternoon I can still work in the barn. Sorry about no pics this time around, was way too dark. Since I am working on a very tight budget here, its going to be a few months before I am able to reassemble some of the interior. I would really like to take the seats to Nashville and have an Upholstery shop do some work to them. maybe clean them up and re-dye since they are not ripped or torn up like my current seats. The rest of the interior is good to go. It all depends on what I can afford to do at this time.
Well it was a long day so I didnt do much on the interior this evening. I did get the rear door panels, both front kick panels and the door sills removed. I have run into a piece of trim on the rear doors that I cant figure out how to remove yet, so I left it alone. Its the trim that divides the rear window from the quarter window shown in the pic below. I have not found any info in the archives yet but I am looking. I am going to remove the driver seat and carpet tomorrow and then reinstall the driver seat for temporary use.
Man, you are killing me with this beautiful Black interior! That's the color I wish I had, and second would be your original Burgundy. All I have is gray, which unfortunately shows all kinds of dirt and damage quickly, plus my interior is in bad condition anyways. My black exterior would look awesome with that Burgundy interior.
Too bad you don't live closer, because no one around here does that type of work. Congrats on being so handy! =)
