BROKEN OIL CAP - PLEASE HELP!!!

I have a unique problem. This morning I was going to add some oil to my w126and the plastic cap broke. The top of it broke off but the cap part stayed on the engine. I have no idea how to get it off now. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Also, my car is really low on oil and needs some added desperately. Will it cause any problems if I add oil through the dipstick? Any feedback is much appreciated and will be commended.

adding through the dipstick should be ok, is there no way you can grip whats left of the cap with some pliers? Other than that you might have to take off the valve cover and smash out the broken cap, that would be a bit drastic though.

Yeah i tried that but the problem is that the part that is left is also made of plastic, so when using pliers it just breaks off. i mite try a wrench this afternoon and try to grip around the edges. i was pretty surpised by the cheapness of the cap, not usual for a mercedes product.
