Hi everyone. Can anyone please help me locate the fuel pump relay on my 1989 420SE. It is the prime suspect in a problem I have. The car runs perfectly in all respects, but on two occasions has suddenly stopped. After standing for 3 or 4 mins will try to start, but not actually run. After leaving for 45 mins rus perfectly. It's in my local garage now, after doing this, but because it is running OK, finding the fault is difficult. Various mechs have suggested FPR but we can't locate it. Can anyone help please - quickly if at all possible because we're supposed to be going on holiday Sunday. Hodplod, Scotland.
In the engine bay, near the firewall, on the opposite side of the battery. It should be near a cluster of fuses and will look like a black box with the word kickdown on it. You pull it out and you pop a new one in its place. It takes less than one minute of labor
