Actually, I have gotten several of them now as follows:
1) What is the proper space gap (supposed to be) in the spark plugs of 1989 300 SE I6 ???
2) Car does not start from the first starter spin, however starts from the second one... Thought might be the gas filter is dirty ?? Any other ideas? Plugs are all clean - no residue or oil. Please advise the location of the fuel filter.
3) Bought recently the used transmission from the member of the I-net site and replaced mine, being worked only on 1-st and the second speeds... The tranny shifts from the first speed @ 2000 RPM to the second speed and about second or two later - up to the third. Is that acceptable ? Does an adjustment some kind of required? what kind of (if so)?
2) Highly recommend the "ICE" polishing wax by "Turtle". Should be worked on the car surface after the turtle (regular) wax. Month car is clean as new -- being washed by the rain only.... All dirt just sliding right down. Try and you will not be disappointed !
3) Live in NJ 08857 - if some one wants to learn a little more about the body detailing, will be glad to show and / or to help with his / her car for the much lower amount than the car washes and detailing places.
Kindest regards.

Filter is in the back by the fuel pump, near the pass rear wheel area.

Did you drain the torque converter fluid? How much fluid did you put in overall? You need to get it warmed up to operating temp to accurately check the correct amount. Also, there is an adjustment with the bowden cable, and there is an adjustment on the modulator itself that will change the firmness/softness of the shift. Also, make sure the vacuum line from the engine to the trans is in great shape - actually, I'd replace it and the connectors to make sure you don't have a vacuum leak. These transmissions are sensitive to vacuum and the correct pressures and that can cause shifting issues.
I would be interested to know the answer to your second question. My 300se does the same thing. Will not start on the first turn but cranks right up on the second. Plugs wires etc. have been replaced
Starting from the second spin......
To all interested :
Replacing of the fuel filter does not fix the problem of the second spin starting ....
Bought New one - replaced. The situation is the same - still can not start from the first spin.
Regards.
Next time you start it, pause for a few seconds in the "on" position before turning to "start." If it fires right up, it could be your fuel injectors are leaking down, or you fuel pump is starting to go.
