Question about headlights to HID

Has anyone converted there older w126 to HID from the 9006? The reason that I am asking is I have a newer car that has the hid's and at night I never have to use the high beams.

How is the lighting with the HID if you do the convertion? Due to you losing the high beam....

I have so say though the newer car that I have had the reg head lights and I changed them but I still had the high beam if I needed them. In 2 years at night I have never used the high beam at night driving and I got the kit for 135 and I can get the kit got my 89 420 sel for the same price for all parts. I just lose the high beams. Can any of you give me input on this?

Thanks

Now I know you are feeling a little tetchy about being asked to ues the search function but...

A search using the terms 'HID headlights' brought up 35 threads including this recent one complete with wiring instructions.

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w126...HID+headlights

mods are not here as library assistants to go and get the books you want when you want them, more to keep peace and sort through things when they get messy (one day we will find time to clean up the DIY thread).

Sure we all need help sometimes as people call the same part different things in different parts of the world and no amount of searching 'flasher' is going to bring up 'optical horn' (I only learnt that one recently myself - I had never heard it called an optical horn).

Enjoy the forum, we are all really here to help each other keep the yachts on the road
