126 vs. Amtrack this happened today.
This accident just happened about an 3 hours ago a block from my house at around 7pm. I was in my office when I heard and alarming train whistle, the sound of sheet metal bending, and then train brakes. What a bone chilling sound. I ran to the 240 and drove down the street to find a mid 80's 300sd still running, until the fuel ran out, and a man a few feet away standing next to a woman who just happened to be there to get him out of the car. He had a small cut on his head and a very deep, to the bone, cut on the top of his right wrist. It’s amazing how the EMT training I had over 10 years ago in high school bounces back like it was learned yesterday. I did a quick assessment of him and while I was checking him out I finally got his phone number out of him and made a phone call to his wife. That was fun. The sad thing is they live an hour or so away so now she has to drive here to get to him. Long story short, he should be alright and thank God he was in the car he was in and there was no one with him.
Here are some pics from the camera phone. 300sd acc2.jpg

Wow... amazing pictures. The W126 took a licking and did its job! Glad no one was severely hurt. W126's are truly strong cars and this picture just proves once again I'd rather be in a W126 than an econo-box aluminum can.
Last week I was driving my 190E here in Poland when I saw a motorcyclist run a red light and t-boned into a new Audi TT. The motorcyclist literally fell under the car. I was the first one at the scene and had to yell at the female driver of the TT to turn off the car as she wanted to REVERSE with the man under her car. Just as you said, the training just comes back to you quickly... I was able to safely pull him out and amazingly the motorcyclist got up on his two feet although clearly in shock. I stayed at the scene until the paramedics came.

1 hellova crash, this should be made a sticky showing how the 126 stacks up in crashes. People can add to the thread with other pics and vids, there are already 2 on youtube - the australian family and the 5th gear motorway test. There was a post a while back that showed a W126 with is back end sheared off or the other car was sheared in half, anyway someone may know of the thread.
