WOW! Did the train hit the 126 completely broad side, or was it hit more towards the back of the car? If so, I cannot believe that the man survived.

The W126 is truly a strong car, but with 25 years of safety advancements, I do wonder if today's safest cars are not a bit safer.

Smart's are actually pretty safe cars and do well in all crash tests. Now, a small POS car like a Daihatsu or a Fiat 500 on the other hand...

I fear many of the innovations may have lead to the reduction in mass that is the benefit of the 126.
