For all of you impatient people out there, the car is now being delivered Friday evening.

It has AMG bumpers.

Congrats on your new purchase.

If that's your 190 in your sig. that's a very beautiful car. 190's are among my favorite benz bodystyles - 2.3-16 is cream of the crop.

Some more information.

The original color comes up as Anthracite Grey Metallic, 172, but I believe the car was repainted Black at some time.

The car is a Euro-Spec 500SE. Has AMG Front Bumper, Rear Bumper, Side Skirts, and Wheels. At least visibly. What else the car has I will have to find out Friday.

It was imported in early 2000.

A Euro spec 500E???!!

WOW!!

I can't imagine anything more exciting to own than that!!

I don't imagine how you can wait.

Congrats. You are VERY lucky!!!

I drove a '92 American-spec one one time. I just loved it. You will feel the same way about yours.

500Ecstacy.com will be the place to go for you.

Might I recommend going over my post one more time, haha.

500E might be in the future, but not yet.

Congratulations on your purchase.

The Series 1 Euro 500SE came with the 117.961 or 963 engine and had either 237 or 228 HP stock.

AMG offered three stages of tuning which upped the output considerably.
Stage 1: Camshafts, port & polish
Stage 2: Stage 1 + bore & stroke increase to 5.4L
Stage 3: 4-valve heads.

Thanks very much for the information. Whats the difference between the 961 and the 963?

I am interested to see if the car has any of the AMG engine tuning. The owner didn't really know much about the car other than the AMG bumpers.

How would I identify any of the different stages of the engine work?

The .961 is the early version and was not available in the US. The .963 was the later model and could be equipped to pass the emission controls in the US, Japan and Switzerland.

The .961 had a compression of 8.8:1, the .963 is 9.2:1.
