Hef,
mine as well as the one in the picture have the bung for the EGR on the front drivers side-- I will not be sending that apparatus to be jet hotted, I will paint it myself another color, ploish and clear coat it, or seal off the bung and not use it-- they came off I believe an 85 500sel but i would have to ask member MTUpower again.
Cirrus, as for the price, it is just under 200 minus return shipping, but I am not sending the one downpipes side I have, I need to make the passenger side so just sending the four piece cast iron headers and the extra set of 4 flanges that I have so when i get them made they will be ready---
The more I work on this project and realize I will not gain half the investment I have put into my convertible, out of it and not wanting to give it away, I believe I have decided to put it into storage and pull the 84 500 euro engine out of it that originally was in my 500sel before a jeep totalled it--the driveline is impeccable. (and the US out of the other SEL is sooooo dirty!!!!!!)

Well if I'm not boring you all yet I have somthing to add. I found the option codes from the MBUSA classics center themselves--- we really should make our own vb program for the vin number entry here instead of relying on the russian site--(maybe I should write some code!)-anyway below is the correct options for my car:
dispatched 12/21/1982
904U midnight blue
252A Blue Leather
835 SOUTHERN KOREA-SUPPLEMENTARY PARTS --???
=this would be COIR MATS -- i have a set of these in my 300d, like all weather mats and great for wet weather--this car did come into NorCal in it's infancy
256 = limited slip differential not a RADIO HI-LINE USA VERSION
871 TEMPORARY INAPPLICABLE CODE = front heated seats 870 and 871 for L and R sides
856 2.BEDIENHOERER IM FONDARMLEHNE ??? 2 CONTROL LISTENERS IN REAR ARM REST= this option was not for my car and still could not find this one
406= 404+405 which is the orthopedic backrests
410 electric sliding roof
452 two tone horn
470 (ABS)
504 adjustable rear view mirrors (electric)
and of course the below

When the present owners acquired benzworld, Mercedes Benz had been approached in regard to cooperation with manuals (mbusa used to sell the nice 2 DVD manual for $ 20), access to run VIN numbers and more. The braingears site used to have the same manual online, free of charge. It all came to nothing, and the manual site was most likely sued off the internet.
Our tool bar used to have a direct link to the Mercedes Benz USA (mbusa) site.
Cheers

You would think the marketing team at MBUSA would figure out that it might be beneficial to them to work with us and not against us to promote repeat ownership, epecially with us Benz Lifetimers-- but oh well-- The last real mercedes were our cars anyway (and the 129) but it doesn't matter
I think the russian vin# part is down. They asking for donation but I dont think they get much.
As for Us,it would be nice to have it here.To bad they dont give a cr... about Us.

well started cleaning the engine compartment with simple green, and found some interesting things--liiks like a motor mount wore out at some time or a timing chain threw?? no signs that this car was in a wreck of any kind but look at the spring tower on the drivers side--I am amazed at how clean this car is--if it hadnot been for the sun damage, this would have been a mint car. LOOK AT THE UNDER SIDE OF THE TRUNK, NOT A SPEC OF RUST ANYWHERE
