i have a 91 560 sel . i am doing the timing chain/ guide rail job that i hear soo much about on here . most of the pins have come out just fine . the one that is giving me a problem is the one on the bottom of the tensioner guide rail . i removed the little plug , but that little bastard pin does not want to slide out . its kinda funny how all of the alleged "tough ones" came out just fine . any help would be greatly appreciated !

Welcome, the 2 DIY threads above have a number of write ups on your problem.
Also, the forum archives have a wealth of information, and the search function on the top right of the W126 page will accept two words, try 'rail pins.' To re visit the 'Welcome to the Forum' tutorial sticky will help you take advantage of the forum's features.
What's happening? Is your bolt bottoming out in the pin?
I found a tap from the auto parts store was well worth the $4 so they'd have threads all the way to the 'bottom'. Made a huge difference when trying to get two nasty ones out.

its the pin at the bottom of the tensioner guide rail , the big, metal backed , banana shaped one . i cant get that pin to slide out . the problem is that there are no threads to grab on to inside of this pin. its not supposed to be pressed in . everyone just says it slides out . mine does not seem to want to budge .
Take an appropriate sized flat head screw driver, one that will slide all the way throgh the pin. Heat the tip, bend it over giving you a small 5-7mm tip. Let that cool and you should be able to hook it from the back and pull the bugger out.
When I did my 420SEL, I used a pair of needle nosed pliars to get the barrel pin out. Move the chain guide back and forth to help in removing it. It's a loose fit.

Sometimes they get covered in goo making it a Very tight fit.. that's what led me to making the above tool from an old screw driver.. Rarely they can be a Real PITA..!!
