If needed jack up front end to access the drain plug bolt on driver's side of oil pan.
Get drain pan and remove drain plug so oil drains out. Remove oil filler cap on top of engine to aid in oil flow. Remove oil filter on back of engine and replace with new one - I like to put a ring of new oil on rubber gasket. Replace metal ring/gasket on oil drain plug, when finished draining - replace. Pour correct amount of your favorite oil in - my 300SEL uses about 6.5 quarts and I use Amsoil Synthetic 5w-40 european formula. Replace oil cap, check level, close hood, jack down car and you are done!
That is very good description. Only thing missing is that the first thing you need to remove is the engine tray cover/pan. The engine tray is held in place by 4 screws, one at each corner.
If your car has the factory suspension, you should not need to jack up the car.
Good luck

If you have the oil filter cups, it can make it a bit easier as well. The first time I did an oil change on my 300SEL I found the whoever did the previous oil change had overtightened the oil filter. The oil filter socket(?)/cup will get it right out.
