this is a pic of the PCV (breather) hose on the passanger side valve cover to the airbox. i'm not sure the euro 500s have the small vac line fitting as seen in the below photo. but if they do, where is this vac line located?
i've used a breather setup, and a catch tank setup and i'm still plauged with fumes in the cabin at speed with the windows down, so i'm going to return it to factory until i figure out a way to isolate the PCV.
do the euros even have this vac line fitting? can someone at least verify that for me? or at least tell me where the source is as intended by mercedes benz?
Yes, my 420 has a vac line that comes off that hose.
Where does it go? I can't quite remember at the moment, I will look in the morning and tell you.
I do recall asking Jonathan if it had anything to do with the trans (which it doesn't) when I was trying to work out if my trans flareing was vacuum related (which it wasn't).

I have an actual vacuum line coming off the main hose, but I cannot figure out where it goes. I've been looking and looking, though I've yet to break out the 'mirror on a stick', which is next.
If it's under the throttle body, I'm gonna say screw it and plug it.

that breather's vacuum hose feeds into the fuel pressure reg on the Gen II cars..I'm fairly certain it does on the gen I cars as well...it's just been a little while since I stared @ one :-P

Man, I've gotta score on a decently-valued manual, a real paper one on eBay, one of these days, soon.
CD-based stuff is okay, but it's not quite the same, even when printed.
Fuel pressure regulator, eh? I'll have to dig under there some more.
so is this vac line sourced before or after the throttle? is it a vac source for the function of the FPR or a throttle bypass to create vac for the function of the PCV?
hmmm.. as far as i can see, all the lines around the FPR look to be unmolested and i don't see any plugged ends. do you have a pic for refference? or does someone have a schematic from a manual? much appreciated.
