Welcome to the forum. To include your car mod. and location makes it easier for members to offer advise. If you don't have one yet, Mercedes Benz at www.mbusa.com has the official 2 CD service manual for $ 20. Outside the US the manual costs up to five or six times that. Check out MBL87560SEC's post in the DIY thread above. It has the link/information how to order, and how/with which free Steve Nervig index to download to HD. You can also type your question into the 'search this forum' box on the top right. It will get you all archived post re. your problem. You might try the Russian MB site. Don't put in a mod. or vin, click on cars and scroll down, until you get to yours. http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb.asp

The online manual mbbraingears doesn't always work: http://mb.braingears.com/126_DISC2/program/matrix.htm Good luck

Been meaning to ask: you keep this saved somewhere and do a copy/paste, right?

Great!! 87 420SEL.... Need diag & specs on drivers door lock assembly installation including the Tamper Shield! Replaced door due to parking lot hit. Replacement is a (matched) shell so I've swapped everything. However, the inside handle is NOT returning to its rest position (spring-back) after release.

Also, what position is the T-ARM in after re-installation of the regulator? There are 3 10mm Frame nuts, the Right Arm bolts to the Window Frame. And then there's the JAW & tha T-ARM! How do I position them?

REALLY NEED YOUR HELP PAL..

Yes, I now do. The first 100 or so I each wrote. The same info seems to helpful more often than not. MBL87560SEC used to do the same and probably for a much longer time than I. Since a lot of his posted links/tech files have disappeared during the migration, he probably is a bit disenchanted with bw.
BTW, I thought it quite ironic, that the only constructice answer re my starter motor question came from no other than banned ex member and PIA Rex/SellC.
I had to delete it.

Another good reference is the illustrated Parts Catalog.
http://www.classictechlit.mbusa.com/MB/

From that site:
Illustrated Parts Catalogues contain exploded view schematic drawings with call-outs. There are no part numbers shown. These catalogues can be helpful to the hobbyist who wants a diagram for reassembly or wants to speed up purchasing parts at a dealership. These catalogues are approximately 25 to 125 pages in length.

I was told the 126 version is 353 pages. It sells for ~$30

W126 Service Manual CD ...

I've tried navigating the MBUSA site for this ARCANE Archeological Myth & Indiana Jones isn't handy @ the moment ... Anybody know the exact complete link to order it? The dealerships get Way Snooty when I waltz in (Old, Tattered, Viet Vet, hobblin' w/ my cane & torn Levis), whereupon some kid in a Lab Coat gently encourages me to the Service Dept instead, assuming that I'm befuddled & incapable of managing my own repairs ... I don't have time to explain that I'm a retired Heavy Equip / Car / Motorcycle mechanic ...

I seek not solace, but TRUTH! (&/or accurate info) ...

Cheers & Jollies!

A few days ago I posted information concerning some of the CD versions of service manuals that may be purchased on ebay. See this post:

I'll point a fellow Vet to the manuals. PM me your email address and I'll send you a nice gift basket.
