Does anyone out there have an original window sticker for a "1987" 560 SEC. I want to know what the MSRP was and what people have actually paid way back when? I usually save the window stickers when I buy a car but did not buy this one brand new. My guess is around $73-75K?? Thanks in advance...
For what it's worth, here's a mention from the NY Times re: 1988 prices. There was a similar price-increase story on the 1987 model year, but with no prices cited.

LEAD: Mercedes-Benz of North America said it plans to raise prices on its 1988 models between 2.6 percent and 3.4 percent. The lowest-priced model, the 190-E sedan with five-speed manual transmission, will sell for $29,190, and the highest-priced car, the 560-SEC coupe with automatic transmission, will sell for $76,380 on the West Coast and $75,850 on the East Coast.

that's still cheap i reckon, in those days $215k got you a nice family home in Sydney, right now the new S classes are about $350k plus (just a guess) that can get you a one bedroom shoe box apartment!
My US Spec 1987 560SEC sold in December, 1987 for $73,765 at Prestige Motors in New Jersey. This figure includes the NJ Sales Tax and license fee. + the $1500 Federal Gas Guzzler Tax...
