Ravi,

I think you may be confused, I own the car in question and Corkscrew's daughter took the pictures in the DPRK.

I have contacted the MB Classic Centre, but they could only provide me with a FAX copy of the data card. If they even had the original owner information, they would not be able to provide me with it. Seems like a dead end there.

I will have pics up tonight!

- Steve

I am convinced that you've got one of the Kim-mobiles. On both of my trips to NK I never saw a MB that was any other color than black. And they were all 4 door cars.

Go over that machine with a vacuum and see if you can find any traces of who might have owned it.

You have one really great talking point ride. Congratulations!

The roof is additional evidence that the young Kim Jong Il owned it.

Very nice. Congrats. Is that a monochromatic grill?

Whats different about the roof?

Yea that looks for some reason like something the Kims would own in NK, I dunno why it just does.

Cool car.

Teutone,

Why yes! It is a monochromatic grill. Was this a factory option? I haven't seen too many white SEC's and haven't noticed if the other grills were monochromatic or black.

I think it really sharpens up the front of the car and accents the chrome and headlights perfectly. I have also installed clear corners with clear bulbs since these pictures were taken. a very simple job that also updates and accents without getting tacky.

As far as the roof goes, I don't think there is anything special about it except for the fact I had the sunroof 'popped' when I was taking these pictures.

Thanks for all the praise, I've had many Mercedes-Benz models over the years but a 560SEC with this colour combo is what I've always wanted, was told I would NEVER find, and now I have.

Was the car ever repainted? The wiper arms are also white, and they should be silver-grey. The only time I've seen body-color wiper arms is when the car's been repainted -- and this could also explain the "monochromatic" grille.

Janos,

No, the car has never been repainted or had any panels replaced. I had this confirmed when I had the PPI done to ensure that the accident history was clean. (And it was.)

Perhaps this is what Option 343 on my data card is? Nobody can shed any light on that one, not even the MB Classic Centre!

Either way, the white wipers and the white grill are quite stylish and look much better than a black grill and black wipers would.
