The car appears to have been recently started... maybe ran for a couple of minutes because its still not full warmed up at the 80* C mark. The oil pressure is strange as its pegged way up above the 3. The idle looks good. I don't know what a typical redline for a 380 is, but it looks OK. The speedo is correct for that year... the US had a stupid law during the Reagan years that all cars in the US had a max 85mph speedo. The following year they changed it. The vacuum on the economy indicator looks good. The only thing I don't like, besides the speedo , is the oil pressure indicator that its pegged above the 3.

Note also the indented ‘55’ on the speedo, the old Federal speed limit, not much point going any higher with the speed markings.

Urban legend had it at the time that if you kept it below 65 mph the cops would not bother you, a kind of collective protest. In those days I’d keep the speed right around 60 mph – and thought that was ‘fast.’

Today cruising at 80 mph is commonplace in Florida.

No, it would go as fast as a DOT 3.8 M116 would go.

Does that imply that the worst speeding ticket you could plead guilty to would be for going 85mph? I mean, how were you supposed to know you were really doing 128?

that car needs a new oil pressure valve or switch. when it goes straight up like that its FUBAR !! i replaced mine as it did the same.
also for a 3.8 it revs out very low!
