Does anyone know the ID of fuel return lines on the injectors for a 1984 300SD? Mine are leaky, I want to replace but couldn't find what size hose to get anywhere. Also, is it a high pressure hose or will any ordinary fuel hose of the correct diameter work ok?
And has anyone done a write-up on how to replace the motor mounts on a w126? Our's has 250K on it and it's a bit clunky in that respect. The car is pretty new to me.

Check out the online manual: http://mb.braingears.com/126_DISC2/program/matrix.htm . As far as I know, all that needs to be removed is the radiator shroud. A good source for parts/motor mounts is autohausaz (free shipping on orders over $ 50 and good prices). You'll need a strong enough bottle jack or full size floor jack (2 1/2 to 3 ton, with a piece of wood under the oil pan). Don't forget to block the wheels. Have a look at the DIY thread above, it has lots of DIY write ups and the link to the official mbusa service CD's for only $ 20. Also click on the 'search this forum' box on the top right, and type in your question. It will get you all write ups on the topic from the archives. To include your car mod and location in your profile would makes it easier to offer advise. Here are two more links for info: http://www.*****************/Wikka/DoItYourSelfhttp://www.mbcoupes.com/w126index.htm ........... Good luck.
Great, thanks for the links. I have the 2 CD set from ebay... not so helpful. Does Bentley make a manual for the w126?
As for the fuel lines, I just need to replace the fuel return lines from the injector, I wouldn't imagine upsizing those lines would affect performance at all. And I need the lines to fit over the little barbs on the injectors, so I need to make sure I get a snug fit on there.

The $ 20 official Mercedes Benz USA service manual on 2 CD's is very helpful when downloaded to hard drive with Steve Nervig's free search index. With the index you'll be surprised how much intormation there is. The links are in the DIY. These are non ebay.
Ok, for the record the fuel return lines from the injectors are 3.2mm, (or 1/8") ID. I got 3 feet of the line at the local Mbz shop for $5 and no more leaky injectors. Took like 20 minutes with a pair of needle nose pliers and a pair of scissors. The old lines were noticably brittle compared to the new lines, they practically crumbled when I tugged them off.
The car is already turbo charged and running on recycled vegetable oil cut with 20% gasoline, I don't expect this 120hp 3,800 lbs automatic beast to ever go fast... I just want it to be pretty and be a reliable 2nd car. I think i'll slap on my e-codes next weekend.
I'll check out the DIY threads and figure out how to work out all the kinks on this car, one by one! Thanks for the help.

haha yeah.. if it wasn't diesel it would be a different story. If this diesel motor ever craps out though... you better believe I'll be looking for a 5.6L v8 to drop in there.

Any suggestion where to find these 2 cd's and search index?
