Removing interior wood trim-help

I've finally gotten enough courage to attempt to restore my wood, but the only pieces that I have been able to remove so far are the center console around the shifter and the short piece on the glove box. I'm assuming that I may need to take the doors off to remove the door pieces. But, how in the world do I remove the two long strips that are on the dash and the large rectangular piece around the radio? I hope that I don't have to remove the whole dash.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I've alreay sprayed stripper on the center console piece, so there is now turning back now!

I dont know about the others, but for the AC/radio wood, you need to take out the radio, and then you will be able to access two screws from underneath. Then you need to carefully ease the wood up while pulling out. Be careful, you don't want to break it.

Hate to break the news but you will need to remove the dash or really really take a bunch of stuff out of it to get to the 10mm nuts that hold the wood pieces that are on the dash. Most estimates are at 3-5 hours to remove the dash correctly. I have only heard of one guy getting his very very skinny arms up in there to do it by hand. I would not want to try that.

If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about answers.

It's VERY easy. Hint: remove the vent flap/shutters. I think I posted a write up on this before. Let me see if I can find it.

Thumbs up

One of my pieces fell off the other night.

I will be getting the superglue out soon.
