When mine did that, it was a blown fuse.
The fuse was blown because one of the rear under-door lights had come loose, gotten slammed in the door, the plastic broke, and the socket grounded to the frame of the car or something and blew the fuse... my dad figured it out finally.
IDK which fuse number, should be a diagram... but check for a blown fuse before you get too involved with the vacuum system.
Could be a vacuum line slipped loose, or perhaps (but not as likely, in my opinion) a suddenly-failed vacuum pump... but failing a fuse I"d look for a broken vacuum line, and I"m sorry I don't know where to look for the specific ones... perhaps somebody who's done it will give you a map.
