RE: idle speed control???

Depends on exactly what you're actually asking for - and the age of your car. If you mean the "idle control valve" you'll find it in front of the airfilter (on a V8 that is) It's cylindershaped with vacuumhoses "all over" and a contact plug on the end. If however you mean the "idle control unit" it depends on your model year. With the "KA-injection" roughly pre 1985 you'll find it between the two torpedo walls in the engine bay. On "newer" cars its placed behind the foot resting plate in the passenger footwell. In either case it's marked "idle control unit". As your car is an 300 (after 85) I'd start looking in the passenger footwell first.

RE: idle speed control???

As far as I know, the M103 engine has no idle control unit/relay.

It's all done via the CIS-KE unit and idle air valve - this valve is under the air filter on the M103, just in front of the air intake. Only two hoses on this idle air valve (M117 V8's have 3, a bypass hose as well).

However, the M103 idle air valve has a 2mm allen screw on the body which can be adjusted to correct idle speed.

RE: idle speed control???

Hear's a shot of the idle air control valve (see item "C") on the M103, which I've been having problems with.
Took it out the other day to cleaned it & broke one of the hoses. Managed to clean the valve & with the help of super glue, managed to put it back together. Idle lumpy at times with a minor improvement. I need to have it out again replace the hoses - so far no stock - got to look around.
I'm having difficulty removing the hoses. Any advice on how would be appreciated. What does the electrics do on the valve & what does the adjustment on the 2 mm
Allen screw do? & how to check that the valve is operating correctly?

RE: idle speed control???

The rubber hoses are in stock(ordered for me) had bought mine already.
call teng soon on 67633281.

2mm allen key screw changes idle speed. I'll leave it just buy a new unit(c).

Rough idle change a NEW(not a used one) fuel distributor ... sorry you can't avoid it.

If your idle is high could be due to you acclerator linkage. Mine was mis adjusted has readjusted them found on the fire wall near the engine bay.

RE: idle speed control???

Add wd 40 and slide it out. Get a new one in stock just in case you break it.
