Starting engine, engine misses and gear selector chattering. Help! - Benzworld.org

When I start the car in the morning, I need to give it gas for it to start. It stalls if you dont do it. Its either when its cold or its hot.

When I give the car some gas, it misses. I just did a full tune up. I dont know why it does that.

Also, my gear selector chatters when I give it gas and when Im crusing. My blue 300CD did that too. It gets really annyoing. Thanks for the help.

What was replaced with the tune up?
How does it run at say 40 mph? Any problems accelerating?
Does it die or stall at higher speeds?

It could be an air leak or bad OVP.
Other possibilities are the EHA, airflow sensor, or the throttle valve switch being bad.
But it sounds more fuel/air delivery than electrical.

The shakes could be due to the poor running engine in combination with worn motor mounts, tranny mounts or worn shifter bushings.

Wires, plugs, cap, rotor. I need motor mounts for sure. At 40 the car runs great. I step on the gas, and it takes off. Doesnt stall at high speeds. Only at slow speeds when I give it gas is sputters a little. I started it up the other day, gave it gas to get it smooth, pulled a hard U-Turn and it stalled going around the turn.

Sounds like an air leak â€“ can you hear a hissing sound under the hood?
