I am a new member of this wonderful site. I own a 1990 126 560 SEL. I have owned it since Aug. of 2003. I have loved every drive and even enjoy detailing her, sometimes every day! Thank you for all your help and information. Its nice to know that there are many others that enjoy this fine automobile.
I have replaced my sound system as the original seemed well, not quite up to par with the rest of the car. I also stripped and polished my factory alloy wheels. That was really a job. The car is jet black exterior with a black leather interior. Clear corners have been added up front along with chrome lip covers. My 126 is in absolute factory fresh condtion inside and out. I am very proud of this car. I also detailed the engine and replaced general items as needed. (cap, rotor, plugs, wires, ect.). This is my first Mercedes in a very long list of cars I have owned in the past. I never knew how much fun owning a car could be until now. Mercedes really hit the mark with this car. Everything funtions fine on my 126 except for the cruise control. I hope to post pictures very soon. Could anyone please tell me if the 1990 126 560SEL with Black exterior and Black leather inside is very rare? I havent seen too many. Just wondering. Thank you!

Hey black560sel
Shed some more light on the strip/polish of the wheels.
What did you use to strip? Did it react with the aluminum and cause more polishing?
PS, my cruise control is on the blink as well. Haven't fooled with it yet though.
Good to see someone else keeping these fine German touring sedans on the road. [8D]
Don'tcha love tooling down the road in something one heckuva lot more classy than the dime-a-dozen Lexus' that cost 7 times as much?
Note for the 560SEL owner who doesn't have anything to add/repair: You can buy a mobile refrigerator off ebay for your rear passengers to use (or to keep your bottles of Sam Adams cool)

I like them too. I asked him about his yellow fogs, and he told me that the W126s imported to France had yellow fogs on them. Now, if I could only get some French spec Euros for my car. (sigh)[V]

RE: New kid on the block
my car with these yellow fog light since his birth and I think that the majority of the french's W126 were equipped with these headlights (because of the French regulation this period). But i love my original fog light and i hate the white indicator, the original have the orange indicator not white. I love the yellow light my 560 have the yellow light too (on my photo you dont see that because my light was not in action)
