Window tint

Im planning on getting window tint for my red 1988 560 sec......

Im not sure what the laws on tint are here in new York can anyone fill me in.

Also I went to the closest place ( custom cars) and the highest tint they had was 63 percent. He said that was limo tint that didnt seem very dark percentage but then again I never have gotten tint on a car and didnt get to see what it would look like.
I was thinking of not makeing the drivers and passenger side windows tinted as much like say... 49 percent because from what Ive heard those are illegal and maybee it will get me out of a ticket?
Is that a smart move or should I go 63 all around.... I am 17 btw and cant be paying for tons of tickets... haha

what are your suggestions/ comments on everything about this I really need some help on this

RE: Window tint

OK.... first off , 63% is not dark, your wasting your money, its like not having tint at all. But NY laws are that : front windshield 6 inches down and front and rear doors only 70% and back window any. Most of my cars are 5% which is very dark(limo), if you look at my benz in the galleries it has 15 % front and rear and back window is 5%.When its sunny out you can see inside easliy. 20% and 35% is even lighter. But it all depend on the COPS in your area. Some of them dont care and some will pull you over just for that. But sometimes if you get pulled over for like running a red light or speeding you can you can try to talk the cop into just giving you a tint ticket instead of a ticket with points on your DL.

Hope I helped [:D]

RE: Window tint

yea its the opposite though in the 63 would be 37 percent.... and the 49 would be 51 percent.......

you still think if I did 37 percent all around it would suck I mean id really rather stay away from getting a ticket..... but jeez they didnt have anything darker I was like what... Im just trying to make my car look sharper not so no one can see me doing stuff haha...

I dunno why the guy said it was limo tint and he showed me his suv and the back was like black and he said thats how it would look.....

RE: Window tint

My friend just got his car tinted and he did 25 percent (illegal) personally i think 25 percent is the best. I mean its dark enuff and when its sunny out you still see in the car so cops arent too fuzzy bout it. Limo is a lil dark you really cant see out when your gonna be drivin at night. The guy at the tint shop pursuaded my friend not to do limo since cops are bound to get you and since your cant see nethin at night your gonna be backin into telephone poles and stuff... Hope i helped.

RE: Window tint

damn didnt even think of that... cant see at nite....

im thinking im going to jsut change it to 37 percent all around...... do you think a cops gonna give me a ticket or not over 14 percent? And will it look much sharper if I have it all the same tint? OR will it get me outta a few tickets being able to see 14 percent better in drivers side and passenger??

RE: Window tint

I say try Photoshop, then while you are at it add some chrome here and there, then go ahead and splurge on some stripes. Oh, you got to try 20'' wheels and if possible stick some large throat mufflers in the back. Oh and don't forget the gold work on the chrome.
Just kiddin dude, but try Photoshop

RE: Window tint

Personally i still think 25 percents are the best... but i'm 19 [:D] i live in long island tho my car dont have tints but will be gettin some soon and will def get 25s. It gives you the perfect blend of dark and light. You can see at night and is safe but durin the day you can still see in a lil bit but not clear so the cops won't bust you. I know the cops won't bust your balls unless you give the cops attitude or call em pigs LOL. g luck

RE: Window tint

Tinted window is nice to look, BUT if it is dangerous for driving espcially at night. I advice you better not.. Why we wearing dark Spectacles, because of sunlight like my country, BUT at night we have to take it off so we can see clear, As long the tinted is legal and not too dark.. One question? Are you always driving at night? If you do.. better not, agreed that put 6 inches at front and rear, the inetrior will look dark.[8D]
