OK, screwed up and hit the enter key prematurely.
No heat in the 300SD. Started it this morning, backed it out of the garage, went inside to let it warm up...it didn't! Turned the controller to off and restarted it woth the blower on High and the blower came on for about a half second and shot off. Took the car back into the garage expecting to see a blown fuse.... NOOOOOO! too easy. Fuse was fine (pulled it and looked at it ( no problems). Played with the ignition switch to see if it was the ignition switch problem (apparently not). Pulled the panel off under the glove box...was freezing my ass off in the garage...gave up and took the '91 (warm) Explorer to work (downer). Any other ideas? I talked with my MB technician/psychic and he said to smack the blower housing and the connector next to it. Haven't done that yet. I'm open to more suggestions.
Currently have the 300SD down (heat) and the 93 300E down (not starting (posted in the W124 forum). Down to the Explorer and Saturn (ugggghhhhh)

i have one word for you: MONOVALVE!!!

My car's heat died a few weeks ago and I got the monovalve repair kit to fix it, but then it turned out the whole monovalve had to be replaced due to a leak, not just the electromagnetic core.

Actually, I can sell you the repair kit, if you want -- private message me and we'll figure something out. The thing's brand new.

Is there a fuse to check for the blower motor?
Yeah - it should be this stand-alone fuse in the engine compartment next to the main fusebox. There should be a small black box that opens up to a 30 A fuse.

I am recalling from memory what my mechanic told me. I know this fuse is for the climate control - hopefully checking it will cure your problem.

Good luck

All fuses in the main fusebox weere good.Could not find a firewall mounted fuse in my model year (84) car. Did find a connector near the monovalve that was not clicked shut. This was after opening the blower box and verifying that the blower was good by jumpering 12 volts from the battery.

Since that connector was near the monovalve and probably like that for a long time...and since I changed the monovalve last week, I might have moved it enough to rattle apart a little more when the car was running last week. Iwas not in any wasy associated with the monovalve replacement.

Anyhow, I completely snapped the connector back together and now HEAT IS BACK ON! [^]

Thanks to all who offered suggestions!
