500 SEC "brake bushings" & "castor supports"

Recently a mechanic told me I had to replace the "brake bushings" otherwise known as "castor supports". Cost was approx. $400 !!
Anyoner familiar with these terms and what they actually do?

Also need to find independent "TRUSTWORTHY" MB shop in the west end of the San Fernando Valley, preferably as close to Woodland Hills as possible.

Still looking for information regarding the outer SIDE window seals that are at the top of the bodywork of the doors and rear SIDE windows.

Also looking to pick up the side moulding for the outer lower edge of the drivers seat. Tan color.

Thanks for any replies.

check out this site of exploded parts of the 500SEC braking system. it may give you an idea of what the part is and the cost.

The part has nothing to do with brakes, but rather the front suspension. The parts in question are quite popular and are also known as strut rod bushings, caster bushings, strut rod mounts, etc.
