They have the classic Mercedes good looks, are relatively easy to work on, and the prices are low. This is one of the busier forums, so is good. You have a lot of engine choices. I like my 560 SEL. 200,000 miles and going strong.

I am also looking for a 'benz project. right now I am leaning towards a non-smog 350 or 450 sl. You can pick them out for less then 5K with a straight body, both tops, good running, but needing interior work and detail stuff.
