Slow/rough Idle for 85 SEC - Benzworld.org

My idle speed seems to be at about 550 rpm with a warm engine, which is OK acording to the specs I found, but the engine seems to miss just a bit, and consequently the car vibrates. I just tuned it up and it still does it. Does this mean I need a new Idle Control Unit?

My '83 380 SEL needs one. I'm 99% sure your '85 500 SEC needs one too.

Thanks for your feedback. German Star lists one for $179.00 - do you know if I can find a cheaper one somewhere?

Well, I got an estimate of around $700 for the part and labor from an MB dealer. So, if you know how to install the part yourself, you'd be saving tons of dough. I think $179.00 is probably a good deal, unless you get one out of the junkyard.
