I am glad you are not taking crecit for the Euro license plate on the rear of the car when you bought it, because it looks lame.
16" painted Pentas would be perfect for that car as a Gen I coupe. It is going to clean up beautifully as so many do.
I took both driveshafts off to tow it the 1786 miles to my house, and made sure it had brand new tires--remarkably the 3.8L minivan pulled it all the way home with no problems LOL
The euro license plate was a gift from my little brother so i put it on for gigles and he thought it was cool, he had it made for me when staying in Hiedelberg for a while--- my brother is the best!
I will be on the hunt for 16" pentas as soon as I get her running......
That being said, i believe this is the original paint on the hood so the enamel is better than the base clear of now days which Hef has found out doing the same thing to his SEC-- the paint just needs some clear and some wetsand and buffing again--letting it sit with a cover for the last year has taken it halfway back to where I started from---but 2 afternoons should remedy that!

i'm in VA for 2 weeks so looking towards the middle of march to pull the other motor and put it into this one---the exhaust is an issue though--the BMW cats and custom heat shielding under the car is fine but the middle section by the saddle bags has cancer and will have to be cut out--will be taking it off the car to a shop in order to put pipes from the headers (euro tri Y's) to the remus exhaust--untill then i will have to deal with a leak if i want to run her
anyone know what I can use to get the oil water (chocolate milk) mix out of the heater core and the radiator????? It has a brand new radiator with the MB depo tags still on it--this one had some overheating issues me thinks and someone started throwing only some of the parts needed at it before the heads popped!

A Euro Series 1 SEC with the full AMG body kit and it's a great color.
The radiator should clean right up with a good flushing with some mildt detergent. Take it to a radator shop and have them do it for you. It'll take them all of 10 minutes to get it clean.
I'm not sure about the best procedure to clean out the heater core.
While you have the engine out, and you have access to the heater core the in- and outlets, you can set up a simple flushing system with your garden hose.
Or you can waint until the new engine is back in and flush the system (with the heater on max temp and defrost).

Axel, thanks for the info--just have to find a decent radiator shop around here!
I would also like to give a special thanks to Blasphemous Mike for the information to help locate some important documentation on this vehicle as well as all those that helped contribute to this endeavor!
Remus! mmmmmmm--can't wait to get the engine in!

Hey I thought it was ME who last Remus standing. Congrats, you will really love that.
Before the install, I went to the "Euro conversion" section of Welcome to MB Coupes! and printed out a page there that showed the the "EXACT" location of where the Remus exhaust tips exited it on that car, and got this result, which was helpful to them, and HIGHLY satisfactory to me:
Also, have them use 560SL exhaust muffler hangars, the have a reinforced steel chain inside them, unlike the SEC ones which do not.
I can think of little worse, than the unreinforcded SEC muffler hangars failing on day and the beautiful Remus dragging on the ground, throwing up sparks, or worse, lost or gone from the car in a mishap like that!!
