Sorry about that; the link that I posted is correct, BenzWorld changes the specific address, as it works perfect on the other M-B forum. I'll try a different approach below... if it doesn't work, it's an eBay listing, Item number: 260172927988
Here's the addres to a nice looking 560 SEC, with a 'Buy it Now' price of $15k; seller also has the 'Make Offer' feature.
Any one here maybe familar and personally know the history on this one?
Thanks!
First part of the address is http://, then add cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1991-Mercedes-560-SEC-VERY-RARE-89k-miles-MINT_W0QQitemZ260172927988QQihZ016QQcategoryZ6332Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
That is all the money. I would love to hear what Bruce M. says about this one. Theprice is certainly in the neighborhood of the cherry cars he sells
The ad is mostly puffery, and says nothing about the mechanical and cosmetic problems and the history of the car, or any of the things a seriously informed buyer would need to know.
For $15,000 it would need to be perfect, everthing should work, and have to have passed the PPI perfectly and in excellent to mint condtion, with a documented history from new, and free from rust and repaired collision damage, cracked blue dash, or any flaws, and be a turnkey car.
It is a very ambitious asking price, and could be difficult to attain in a economy that frowns on gas guzzlers, subprime mortages tanking, and gasoline prices rising. Cars like that are not selling well, but you never know-all it takes is one guy who likes the color and the condition. Who knows?

It certainly looks nice, and SECs in Astral Silver are kind of rare....I've only had one. And the blue leather typically does not wear very well, but in this one it looks great. Also note the shifter wood and console rolltop..no fade, which is a good sign (or means it was refnished, not a bad sign either necessarily).
If the car is what he says it is (mint, all original, all records, everythign works), and it passes PPI with no leaks, A/C cold, all the usual problems not present and everything solid, $15K seems fair to me. 89K miles is still very low, although I think you can get lower mile cars for the price.
But if I had to choose between 89K miles all original mint with all records, and 50K miles with some problems and some paintwork, I'd choose the former for my $15K. The 40K miles on these cars, if well maintained, does not take much out of their lifespan.
I hate the ads that tell all about the history of Mercedes and of that model, but give little/no info about the car itself. If you're shopping for an SEC on ebay, you most likely already know enough about the marque and the model. Generally, that's a large red flag to me about the Seller.

I believe I have seen this one before as well--Not a bad looking car, but I have seen better for that price.....I think Capt Joe in Miami bought his for a tad more and to see that one was like it never left the air conditioned garage.
Hey POS when you going to get an SEC to add to your lineup!!!!!
"cosmoline" im guessing this is short for cosmetic liner??? a coating given to the air cleaner and other exposed alloy surfaces to stop corrosion while at the dealer???
