will 84 500 sel motor fit in an 89 500 sel

i found 2 benz cars a 4 door 84 500 that runs well crashed and an 89 500 coupe with a bad motor can i swap it all out or no -- does any one know thanks -- jz

An '89 500 is a Euro, an 84 may be US - if so keep looking.

the add on car said and i guess i should have put this on ( 1989 Mercedes 500 Series 560 2 Door Sedan ) i am not up to speed on the benz #s just shop i own can work an anything so i was looking for a deal to run with -- jz

'84 500 and '89 500 Euro's are a little different, but it may be just exhaust related. I know that the 2nd gen 500 Euro's produced a tad more power than the previous one.
