i actually don't, since i doubt my insurance company would estimate the value of my car over the deductible... but as long as i don't drive into any trees or deer, i should be okay. and if i do -- well, maybe that'll be the time to buy another, lower-mileage w126 that isn't rusty.

out of curiosity, why do you ask?

I do with $500 deductible. Have the same coverage for both vehicles. '02 Jeep Grand Cherokee and '91 560SEC. Collision and comprehensive. Multi-car, Anti-theft, Dual air-bags, Anti-lock brakes. Runs me a little over $1200 a year.

No comp or collision on any car. janos_z is as usual correct. The insurance company will find a way to screw you. Each payday I send a little to a savings account I keep. I've got enough in there to fix any damage I may cause myself (an incentive for me to not drive like a nut) or a hail storm or a falling tree...

If one of the cars gets totally destroyed there's enough to go towards another car.
