Because I have been very fortunate to meet several great members on this board who have been more than generous, I wanted to "Pay it forward". I have a 1980 280se 126 euro which has been in the family since new. Unfortunately this last October, the car was totalled when a tire blew on the freeway at 80mph (see pics). I have kept it in the back 40 as a parts reserve, but am offering anything that anybody would like from it at no charge. It has a grat running 280 drivetrain, good green velour interior, good hood, passenger side doors, trunklid (sorry, lights and bumpers are already gone). Glass is all excellent. I have in back of a wherehouse in Mt View, CA (NorCal bay area). You are welcome to stop on by and take anything you need, or everything if you want. For those elsewhere, I would be more than happy to remove any of the smaller items and ship them to you if you want, but you would have to pay shipping. Just PM or email me. Thanks![:)]

My wife said to me one day "You really need to choose between me and your toys". I miss her sometimes........
Yes, I am very impressed and happy that somebody out there would do this sort of thing. While I wish my car had a green interior, it's a 2nd gen, so that just won't work. Hopefully, some karma will kick in around here.
woow my car is the same color as yours !!! and some interior parts on my car could be replace for nicer ones!! can you pm me your info ? maybe i can stop by !!! holy smacks haha you can be helping out a college student get his car back to near mint condition ...btw i have a 500SE
haha the karma would be me..after such a horrible 2005...with my car...so much stuff we went throug and the fiance dump me cuz i spend to much time with the car/cheated on me! anyways
First of all, sorry to learn of your accident but glad to hear that, apparently, the Benz took one for the team and everyone else came out OK. I feel better now about my own experience where I blew out my back tire doing 85 on 405, wedged between an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck...somehow got over to the shoulder without playing bumper cars. Knew I was lucky, but didn't quite appreciate it until I saw your photos.
Secondly, I think it's a great gesture. Bravo! Rest assured that your car will live on by being an "organ donor".
I personally don't have a pressing need, but certainly appreciate the kind offer!
What is amazing is that the car lost control because of the rain, spun out, took out a light post (see the dent at the rear where the back door meets the 1/4 panel)and came to rest at the bottom of a embankment 200' from the road. Nobody was hurt, all walked away. What I find incredible is that none of the glass broke!!
