Got a problem locating the owners' & maintenance manual for my 1989 registered 500 SE. First off:
1) Should I be looking for the 500 SEL manual from 1985 -- is it the same? I ask because in the past when I've surfed the net for a 1989 500 SE, nothing comes up. I then do a search under 1985, when the 500 SE was first produced, and come across a find for 500 SEL only.
2) Any recommended sites to get the CD manual? (Apart from Ebay and MBUSA?)
Please help -- and yes, I've already done a search and came a blank on the topic of the 500 SE CD manual. [V]
MB owner’s manuals group the cars together and is not model year specific. Our owners manual, then, is for the 380 SE, SEL, and SEC and 500 SE, SEL, and SEC, search for it that way. I found mine on eBay.
I thought the 500 was available in Europe until '91.
Anyway, if it is an '89 model you'll want a manual for the later, post '85, models as there are important differences between the Series I ('79-'85) and Series II ('86 - '91).

Hi, Thanks for that info...however, I surfed Ebay just now (as well as ye'day), and came up a blank....I searched under "Mercedes 126 manuals", and every model was listed except my 500 SE.

Yes, it's a series 2 1989 Mercedes...I imported it from Germany this summer.
Still can't find the owners' manual CD on the net...this is getting annoying. [xx(]
I just checked the website....my 500 SE's not listed. I asked MBUSA for help yesterday...no reply todate....anybody out there have had the same problem getting the freaking CD for a 500 SE? (There are innumerable CDs containing stuff for the 500 SEL and 560 SEL, but nothing for 500 SE.)
