I recently got home and found my trunk moist again after fixing the taillight seals, I know its still coming in from there and not the rear window b/c I can see the water trail and I have a "fish bowl" tailight.
When I lift up the trunk mat and floor there is a foam rubber filler that sits in a small depression to guard a large bolt, I'm assuming its the rear bumper's bolt, this fills up with water too although it is out of the path of the tail light leak. I took a towel and drained it and it refilled itself to the same level!
there is a small rust patch under the bolt in the trunk metal around the spare tire's stamped depression and it appears behind this hole retains water and there is probably more rust but hidden!!
Is this common at all, and short of a plasma cutter, is there a solution at least to seal it and prevent any more moisture to get in??
