What is a 1987 MB 300 SDL Worth? - Benzworld.org

I have a friend who wants to sell this 1987 300SDL diesel Benz. It has 220,000, a few dings here and there,needs a plastic right headlight retainer and the trans shifts erractically but doesn't slip. The vehicle also needs state inspection. Your input on a value would be appreciated.

Are you serious? I recently got a 1985 300d on the road and love it and this opportunity came up.The trans issue scares me a little bit but according to what I read it's a vacum problem which can be solved at minimal cost.

I will say prices vary greatly for these cars depending on condition. Look on autotrader. I think the average is 6600 - 6800 bucks.

Why is he getting rid of it? There has to be a logical reason.

I'm not sure what the condition of the suspension is or if there are other problems with the car but I will check it out. At least I have an idea of it's value. Thanks for all your help.

A 300SDL for $3k? Dude, I'll buy it for that price. Of course, after checking it out properly.. Most of the time I see them for $5k+ easy..

Perhaps with half the miles of the one in the original post â€“ but again: 220,000 miles and 18 years exact a serious toll on the chassis. $3000.

jdc.. I admire your posts, but when it comes to determining real-world selling prices, you seem to low-ball. A 220k 300SDL in that condition would sell for around $4500-5000 depending in what region in the country you're in. It all of its problems where fixed, it could sell for about $1000 more.

hey , how about a 83sd 173,000 miles really clean 91 style wheels new shocks- nice green color no dents or dings
