i took a look see into the 2004 PA auto show, and the one thing thats starting to become standard on most high end autos are LED tailights/turn signals.
i looked into the headlight swap like i mentioned here about 3 months ago, and the local custom import shop directed me to a place in hummelstown that fabricates one off million dollar street rods.
im thinking about stoppin by sometime and getting a quote on either modern headlight transplant or updated tailights or both for the 126.
im not completely stupid and i know its not a $100 clear corner upgrade, but im curious to see if its possible. has anyone else thought of this kind of mod? is anyone remotely interested in hearing what i find out concerning this?
ok theres the site for the place. i was expecting something more modern from what the guy at the tuner store said, but ill still look into it, itll give me somethin to do some sunday.
I think we’d all be interested – please post what you find out, but I, too, plan no changes to my car with the exception of “origional restoration. [:)]

Based on the price of the LEDs required, the cost would be QUITE unaffordable for pure LED taillights. instead, I have placed a line of LEDs from a hot rod shop to supplement the regular bulb (for that faster light up time). Hardly noticable in the day time, but looks cool (i think) at night. I am in the middle of installing fast-igniting flourescent tubes in my taillights. Will tell you guys how it goes. The bimmer Z8 and several mercedes protos have used flourescent, but it doesn't light as fast as LEDs, but at least it's a heck of a lot faster than regular bulbs.
other than tailights and signals, one of my original ideas was to see what kind of headlights would look best as an alternative to euros, somehting that would brighten up the front. these are LS400 headlights, not a perfect fit but as always photoshop can make anything work.
