1986 300SDL stall problem - help!!!

Have a '86 300SDL with 160k miles that loses power then stalls after 5-10 mins of running. If you let it cool for about 15 mins it starts up again but the same thing happens after 5 mins or so.

It has new

starter
alternator
ac compressor
belts
seals
filters
exhaust
hoses
fuel tanksstrainer and filter

there are no oil leaks anywhere

any ideas?![?]

Dingo,

I have an '87 300SDL with almost 190,000 miles on it. It runs great and I have never had the kind of problem that you are describing.

You have changed all of the filters that I would have suggested,

You didn't say anything about the injector nozzles they may be clogged or dirty. Have you used any injector cleaner or pulled them out and cleaned or replaced them?

Another question, Have you changed the timing chain? I changed mine at 120,000 miles.

If the timing chain is worn, it stretch when it heats up and throws off the timing. (stranger things have happened).

I hope this gives you some help.

Andy
