Exhaust repair with putty.

I did this minor putty repair on this part of the exhaust in front of the Lambda Sensor.

There used to be a shield over this part, but was ripped off years ago by a huge block of ice.

I have been driving without it for years and now the CO% emission has failed the inspection.

24/03/2016 Reading: CO% 0,37
24/03/2017 Reading: CO% 5,61

How is that possible to suddenly after 1 year shoot up so HIGH?

Without a functioning O2 sensor, the ecu has no way of knowing of what to do.

In addition, the O2 sensor is a wear 'n tear device. Replace every 100K to maintain optimum engine running conditions.

The cost of the O2 sensor will be recuperated by way of fuel savings.

Only use a brand new Bosch sensor.
