Good day all, I'm starting the new year with an electrical gremlin in my 91 300E that I hope someone can help me out with. I've searched the forums here and have somewhat isolated my issue. Here's where I stand: No cluster, console or dashboard lights, no R/S front parking or tail light, blown fuse 3. So far I have pulled the cluster and eliminated the rheostat as a possible culprit. With the cluster out and all wires disconnected the fuse still pops. I have also removed the K2 ice cube relay for the headlamp washer/wiper to no avail. At this point I am leaning toward replacing the headlamp switch but before I do this, I figured I'd ask you all for some direction. I've inspected the wiring at the tail lights and the R/S front light and didn't see anything amiss.
Does this sound like it may be a headlamp switch? Is the headlamp switch the best place to test with a MM? I figure if I have to pull it to test I may as well replace it while I'm there. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Matt
