Mercedes has a pair of specially designed pulling tools too remove the plastic instrument pod from the dash to replace bulbs, etc. They are very thin stainless spring steel that inserts on both sides of the pod and hooks the edges allowing one to pull the pod forward to change bulbs, etc. It is very helpful to reach behind and unscrew the large, brass end of the speedo cable, allowing the pod to come forward more. Do not use a coathanger! P.
