I might be wrong but wouldn't the cone setup like this suck in warm/hot air from around the engine bay instead?

I wouldn't do it.

Mercedes, BMW, and Audi put countless hours into the developement of their engines. Most of them are tuned as well as they can be. The few companies that can pull that extra few horses out of it cost a fortune. I think this is probably a rip-off. Look at what a Cold Air intake costs from Dinan for a BMW. Or how much a RennTech upgrade costs. To get more performance out of these cars you're going to have to pay alot. But you get what you pay for. Theses are very reputable companies that will stand behind their products. Sad to say these cars can not be cheaply tuned like a Honda. But they can be tuned better.

we already have cold air intake....

we already have cold air intake.
If you want to improve performance. Just work on maintaining and tuning your engine so that it runs like it's new.
