I've just spent 4 hours on the road so she's not looking her best.

It tells you you are going to hit a traffic jam before you do. Basically it takes away the few mins of blissful ignorance you would otherwise have just before you get caught up in the jam from hell.
To be honest where I live and work, it usually tells me nothing.
Your interior is cream-beige like our 300TE except yours is leather and ours is MB-tex. Oh well, at least tex is near bullet-proof with the kids (and wife!).

Hey Andy,
Just out of curiosity....
I remember reading a while back an article in a Mercedes magazine comparing a w123 280TE, a w124 300TE-24 and a new w203 C32 AMG... The 300TE-24 used looks very similar to the one in that magazine... Is that your car?

Yep it was Mercedes Benz Enthusiasts Magazine here in the UK.
We spent the day at Chedder gorge, not far from where I live.
Speed wise. I was only about 4-5 seconds slower up the hill than the C32 AMG with the W123 about 12 seconds behind me.
I think the editor was quite supprised how fast the old girl went and how well she handled the tight bends.
Great day but murder on the fuel economy. All that slamming up the hill gave around 8mpg AGHHH!!
Greg: The steering wheel is some mid 90's German designer number that the car came with Its on a Momo base. I think its Burchaltach? or something like that beginning with B. Its smaller than even the sportline wheel. Plus sides are great feel and response but the downside is it obscures the top of the dials.
The leather is standing up quite well to my brood (4 kids aged between 14 and 1.5).
